    小孩10年级在国际学校上学,有课程目录和主讲哪几本?

    Course Overview
Over the course of 5 weeks, this course will introduce students to literature classics
written in English across various time periods and geographical locations. These texts will allow
students to explore fundamental questions about what it means to be human, the importance of
historical and cultural context, and the value of close reading. Students will learn how to
identify, analyze, and write about literary devices and traditions. We will master these skills by
reading, annotating, and writing about three pieces of English prose that reflect or have been
influenced by the early development of themes like friendship, adventure, honor, loyalty,
morality, and cultural difference or exchange:  Macbeth, Autobiography of Ben Franklin, Frankenstein
The course will therefore focus on skills in three key areas. Each session will include work on
these three areas through lecture, practice, and Socratic discussion. These are some, but not all,
    of those skills:
    ● Critical Thinking and Reading
    ● Ask and answer high-level questions about literature
    ● Identify and discuss the use of literary devices
    ● Approach problems in a consistent and systematic way
    ● Students will practice pre-reading, annotating, note-taking, and more
    ● Analysis and Contextualization
    ● Learn how to analyze and explain the use of literary devices and elements in
literature for conveying specific ideas or raising larger questions
    ● Consider historical, cultural, religious, or other contexts
    ● Learn to discuss literature through the “lens” of particular ideas, themes, or
    events
    ● Critical Writing
    ● Format and outline essays (narrative, descriptive, expository, persuasive)
    ● Editing and peer review
    ● Grammar, syntax, and diction
